What is our attendance figure?
Our attendance across the school is 95% (as of 12.9.14).
As we are all aware, a child’s attendance at school is very important. From an early age we want to instil in our children at Blenheim, the importance of good attendance and the positive impact it has on their daily lives, from when they join us in Nursery through to year 6 and beyond.
What do we do to monitor attendance?
Our attendance is monitored daily to ensure that children, if they are well and able, are in school enjoying the exciting curriculum planned by our team of teachers. It is therefore important that any child absence or lateness is reported by 9.30am to the school on 01689 819955 and pressing 1.
It is our responsibility to give your children an outstanding education and we can only do this is they are in school.
What happens to those children who are late to school?
The late book, manned by Mrs Hagues, enables the school to monitor those children who are persistently late and allows us to help those families overcome the obstacles for promptness.
The start of the school day is when friendships develop and bonds are made.
How do we celebrate our good attendance?
Weekly in our celebration assembly we award the class with the best attendance for the week with our school attendance mascot, Hoot the Owl. The winning class receives juice and biscuits to celebrate back in the classroom!
Our monthly, ‘100% attendance and on time’ award is drawn from our automated ‘lottery style’ programme. The names of children who have 100% attendance and are on time each day, during the month, are entered into the draw. They have a chance of winning a treat for themselves and a box of
chocolates for the family!
Termly we award certificates and a small prize to those children who have had 100% attendance across the whole term (approx 12 weeks).
What more can we do?
Together we can make your child’s time at Blenheim a happy and memorable one. Attendance alone is the key to this. We offer you the fun packed learning, all you need to do is ensure your children are in school, on time, to challenge, strive and succeed.
